What we do

Lutron has been making dimmers and lighting control for decades, and its systems are known for reliability, smooth dimming and keypads that feel like part of the architecture. A Lutron system replaces banks of switches with a single engraved keypad per room, lets you set and recall lighting scenes, and can follow the sun with daylight-aware schedules. It also controls Lutron motorized shades, so light and glare are managed together.

Island Integration designs and installs Lutron systems for new construction and renovations, choosing the right Lutron platform for the project: wireless systems for retrofits and smaller homes, and centralized, panel-based systems for larger new builds. Lutron integrates cleanly with Control4, so lighting becomes part of whole-home scenes alongside shades, climate and entertainment.

What’s included

  • System selection. The right Lutron platform for the size of the home and whether walls can be opened.
  • Lighting design review. Circuit grouping, dimming compatibility and fixture selection with your electrician and designer.
  • Engraved keypads. Button layouts and finishes matched to the interior, with simple labels such as Entertain, Dine and Off.
  • Scenes and schedules. Room scenes, whole-house scenes, astronomic timers and vacation modes.
  • Lutron shades. Motorized roller and drapery systems with fabrics chosen for view, glare and privacy.
  • Programming and tuning. Trim levels, fade rates and scene levels set room by room, then adjusted after you have lived with them.

How we approach lutron lighting control

  1. Decide the platform early

    Centralized panels need space and wiring planned during construction; wireless dimmers suit retrofits. We advise before the electrical plan is fixed.

  2. Coordinate with the electrician

    We provide load schedules and keypad locations so the electrical rough-in matches the lighting design.

  3. Commission and refine

    After installation we program scenes with you in the room, then return to fine-tune once you have used the house.

Designed for the islands

Good to know in the Bahamas

  • LED fixtures. Many fixtures sold locally are not designed for dimming. We check compatibility before specifying dimmers so lights dim smoothly without flicker.
  • Equipment location. Lutron processors and panels need a cool, dry location. We plan that space with the electrical room rather than a hot closet.
  • Exterior lighting. Landscape and pool lighting is placed on the same keypads and schedules, using coastal-rated fixtures and sealed connections.

Frequently asked questions

Can Lutron be installed in an existing home?

Yes. Lutron's wireless dimmers replace existing switches without new wiring, and keypads fit standard back boxes. Larger renovations can move to a centralized system.

Does Lutron work with Control4?

Yes. Lutron lighting and shades integrate with Control4, so a single scene can control lights, shades, climate and entertainment together.

Is Lutron more expensive than ordinary dimmers?

It costs more than standard switches, and it does far more. For most homes the investment is a modest part of a renovation or build and one of the features owners use every day.
