Home cinema

Home cinema design and installation in the Bahamas

From a dedicated theater with tiered seating to a living room that transforms at the press of a button, we design cinemas around the room, the viewers and the way you like to watch.

Dedicated home cinema with projector and tiered seating

What we do

A great cinema is a room designed as a whole, not a collection of expensive parts. Screen size follows seating distance. Speaker placement follows the screen. Acoustic treatment follows the room's dimensions and finishes. Lighting, shades and seating complete the experience. When all of those decisions are made together, a film night at home is better than most commercial theaters.

We design and install dedicated cinemas and multi-purpose media rooms across Nassau and New Providence, working alongside architects, interior designers and builders so the technology disappears into the finished room.

What’s included

  • Room design. Screen size, seating layout, sightlines and speaker positions planned from the dimensions of your room.
  • Projection and displays. 4K projectors and screens for dedicated rooms, or large-format displays for brighter living spaces.
  • Surround and immersive audio. Properly calibrated surround systems, including in-wall and in-ceiling speakers for a clean look.
  • Acoustics. Treatment and sound isolation recommendations so dialogue is clear and the rest of the house stays quiet.
  • Lighting and shades. Scenes that dim the lights, lower the blackout shades and start the show with one press.
  • One remote. Simple control through Control4, so anyone in the family can watch a film without help.

How we work

How we approach home cinema

  1. Design on paper first

We produce a layout showing screen, seating, speakers and equipment location before anything is purchased. Changes are free at this stage and expensive once the drywall is up.

  2. Wire for the long term

We run cabling and conduit for today's equipment and for the next upgrade, so a future projector or format change does not mean opening the walls.

  3. Calibrate, then hand over

Video is calibrated to the room's lighting and audio is measured and tuned to the seating positions. We then walk you through the system and leave it simple to use.

Designed for the islands

Good to know in the Bahamas

  • Light control. Bright tropical daylight is the enemy of projection. Blackout shades and dark finishes make a daytime cinema possible; otherwise a large display may suit a bright room better.
  • Humidity. Projectors and amplifiers need conditioned air and airflow. We design equipment locations with ventilation and, where needed, dedicated cooling.
  • Power. Surge protection and a UPS keep sensitive equipment safe through outages and generator transfers.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need a dedicated room?

No. A dedicated room gives the best result, but a well-designed living room system with a large display, discreet speakers and lighting scenes can be excellent and is far more common.

Projector or TV?

It depends on the room. Projection gives the largest, most cinematic image in a light-controlled room. Modern large displays are brighter and suit rooms with windows and daytime use. We will show you both options for your space.

Can you work with my interior designer?

Yes, and we prefer to. Speaker fabric, screen framing, seating and lighting all affect the result, and the best rooms come from designing them together.
