Design, cabling & racks

System design, structured cabling and equipment racks

The best time to plan technology is before the walls close. We work with architects, builders and electricians to design the infrastructure that every other system depends on.

Architectural floor plan

What we do

Every reliable smart home starts with a plan and a cable. Network points in the right places, conduit to the roof and the gate, speaker wire to the ceilings, power behind the TVs and at the windows for shades, and a properly located equipment room with cooling and clean power. Get those right during construction and every later decision is easier and cheaper. Miss them and you will be running cables along walls or living with wireless compromises for years.

We provide technology design services for new builds and major renovations across New Providence, from a simple pre-wire specification to full system design documentation that your builder can price and install from.

What’s included

  • Technology design. A room-by-room plan for network, audio, video, lighting, shades, climate and security, coordinated with your architect's drawings.
  • Pre-wire specification and installation. Cable schedules, conduit paths and device locations, installed by us or supervised with your electrician.
  • Structured cabling. Cat6 and fiber backbones, speaker and control wiring, terminated to a labeled patch panel and tested.
  • Equipment room and rack design. Rack layout, ventilation or cooling, power distribution, surge protection and UPS sizing.
  • Rack build and documentation. Equipment installed in a clean, serviceable rack with every cable labeled and a documented system drawing.
  • Coordination. Working with the builder, electrician, AC contractor and interior designer so nothing is missed between trades.

How we work

How we approach system design, structured cabling and equipment racks

  1. Design from the drawings

We mark up the architectural plans with every device and cable location and produce a schedule the electrician can work from. Our pre-wire checklist is a good starting point.

  2. Install at the right stage

Cabling goes in after framing and before drywall or plaster, with conduit for anything likely to change. We photograph every run before the walls close.

  3. Build the rack last

The rack is assembled once the equipment room is finished and cooled, then everything is connected, tested and documented.

Designed for the islands

Good to know in the Bahamas

  • Concrete and block walls. Once poured or plastered, walls are hard to change. Conduit and cable in the right place during construction is the single most valuable investment in the whole system.
  • Heat and humidity. Equipment rooms need conditioned, ventilated space. A hot closet shortens the life of everything in it, as we explain in protecting electronics from salt air and humidity.
  • Power. Dedicated circuits, surge protection and UPS for the rack are designed in from the start, along with generator transfer behaviour.

Frequently asked questions

When should I involve you in a new build?

As early as possible, ideally when the architect's plans are being finalized. Changes on paper are free; changes after plaster are not.

Can you supply drawings for my builder?

Yes. We produce device location plans and cable schedules your builder and electrician can price and install from.

What if I don't know what systems I want yet?

That is normal. Running conduit and a generous set of cables to key locations keeps your options open at modest cost.
