Family Islands

Smart home, networking and security for Family Island homes

Exuma, Eleuthera, Harbour Island, Abaco and beyond: homes that are hours from the nearest technician need systems designed for self-reliance, satellite internet and remote support. We travel from Nassau to design, install and look after them.

How we work in the Family Islands

Technology in a Family Island home has to work when nobody can come and fix it tomorrow. Power is less stable, internet is usually satellite or fixed wireless, parts are a flight away and the owner is often abroad. That changes how we design: more redundancy, equipment chosen for heat and salt, remote access to everything, and clear documentation so a local caretaker can carry out simple steps with us on the phone.

Island Integration provides design and pre-wire, networking with Starlink and other satellite services, security cameras and access, Control4 automation, audio and video and remote support for homes across the Family Islands, planning each trip carefully so installation visits are efficient.

What we deliver here

  • Satellite-ready networking. Starlink or other satellite and fixed-wireless connections integrated into a proper network, with failover between two services where uptime matters.
  • Power protection. Surge protection and UPS sizing for unstable grid power and generator or solar systems.
  • Remote-first security. Cameras, intercom and smart locks you can check and control from anywhere, with local recording.
  • Automation that works offline. Lighting, shades, climate and audio that keep running locally when the internet drops.
  • Documentation for caretakers. Labeled equipment and plain-language instructions so a local contact can restart a device with us on the line.
  • Planned site visits. Pre-wire, installation and service trips scheduled around construction and your time on island.

How we work

From first call to handover

  1. Plan the trip, not just the system

Everything is designed, ordered, pre-configured and tested in Nassau before we travel, so time on island is spent installing rather than waiting for parts.

  2. Build in redundancy

Spare access points, a second internet path and protected power mean a single failure does not take the house offline.

  3. Monitor from Nassau

Remote monitoring tells us when something is wrong, and most fixes happen without a flight. When a visit is needed, we arrive knowing what to bring.

Local knowledge

Good to know about the Family Islands

  • Starlink and satellite internet. Satellite service is now viable for streaming and cameras, but it still needs a well-designed network behind it and some care with power and mounting. Read how we extend coverage with access points.
  • Heat, salt and storms. Equipment rooms need ventilation; exterior gear needs marine-grade ratings; and everything needs a plan for hurricane season. See hurricane season preparation and backup power.
  • Logistics. Freight, customs and inter-island flights all add time. We order early and bring spares so projects are not held up by a single missing part.

Frequently asked questions

Which islands do you cover?

We have worked across the Family Islands and travel from Nassau as projects require. Tell us where the property is and we will plan accordingly.

Can you set up Starlink properly?

Yes. We mount and power the dish correctly, integrate it into a managed network with proper Wi-Fi coverage, and can add a second connection for failover.

What happens when something breaks and you are in Nassau?

Most problems are resolved remotely. For the rest, documentation and a local caretaker usually get the system running again until a scheduled visit, and we carry spares when we travel.
